Ananya Birla’s Birla Studios, in partnership with Vodafone Idea Limited, has launched Reel Se Real Star, India’s first mobile-first acting talent hunt. The initiative from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru owner’s studio aims to democratize access to film opportunities for aspiring actors nationwide.
Breaking Barriers in Talent Discovery
Reel Se Real Star removes traditional barriers of access, geography, and industry connections that have long kept talented individuals out of the spotlight. The platform enables aspiring actors from any corner of India to showcase their talent through digital auditions via their smartphones.
The initiative offers expert mentorship and a feature film opportunity for winners, building what aims to be India’s most diverse and authentic talent pipeline. Unlike conventional talent hunts that require physical presence in major cities, this mobile-first approach ensures equal opportunity regardless of location.
Ananya Birla on Democratizing Opportunity
Commenting on Reel Se Real Star’s concept, Ananya Birla, Founder and Chairperson of Birla Studios, stated, “Talent does not always get the opportunity it deserves, and that gap has kept far too many aspirants out of the spotlight. With the reach of digital infrastructure today, Birla Studios’ creative vision, and Vodafone Idea’s strong national footprint expanding this platform beyond conventional access points, we have the ability to create access at scale.
“We have a real opportunity to rethink how industries open their doors. ‘Reel Se Real Star’ is our attempt to do that by building a platform where anyone, from anywhere, can be discovered, and opportunity isn’t limited by circumstance. Because ultimately, everyone’s talent deserves a real shot at being seen.”
